Personality: Max is a by the book, no nonsense individual. A regular joe (at least by his definition), he's just out to live his life in peace.
He has a very big dislike of the "heroes", and if given the chance would tell them all exactly why they are an affront to the very word. The only hero he actually respects is Spiderman, because he's the only one that seems to care about the little folk.
Hidden behind this resentment however, is a man that wants to be a hero, but is too afraid to become what he hates most when he sees the other heroes of Earth.

-Master martial artist: He's a master of all of Earth's martial arts, including all of K'un Lun's. He's probably amongst the most deadly unharmed combatants on Earth. However, he doesn't practice nearly as much as he should.

-Gun proficiency: He's also a very capable gun wielder, and uses what is known as gun kata to fight at melee range while wielding guns

-Trained detective: He's also a very capable detective and a former police officer.

He carries a pair of handguns, make and model unknown.

Powers:
Max is the heir to the title of "Iron Fist". He has plunged his fists into the molten heart of Shou-Lao the Undying.
As a result, he can freely manipulate his chi to increase his physical and mental capacities to extraordinary levels. His strength, speed, stamina, durability and agility are all enhanced beyond peak human levels. He also has chi augmented healing, using his inner energy to heal wounds or even purge himself of foreign substances.

However, his greatest power lies in what gives him his title. By focusing his chi to his fists, they become powerful enough to punch through solid steel. Max's level of control over this technique is unknown.

There are other uses for the Shou-Lao, but Max barely makes use of his powers, so he is not trained extensively in their usage.

Bio:
Max is the son of a former NYPD commissioner. His father and mother were targeted by a mob boss when he was young, and both were assassinated. Max was left an orphan. However, luck smiled on him when one day, he met the master of the Iron Fist. The old man took him to K'un Lun and taught him the various martial arts and allowed him to become the man to use the name.

Upon his return to NYC, he joined the police force just like his father. One day, while out on the job, he witness his partner at the time murder a child in cold blood, as he was a witness to a case involving a criminal who's payroll he was under.
This incident, coupled with the deaths of his parents, greatly jaded Max's view on life. He also came to believed the big heroes like the SXM or the Avengers didn't care for the common man and only cared about stroking their own ego. he quit the police force, and opened his own PI office in a bad part of town.

He's worked there since, wallowing in misery, refusing to actually take up the mantel of Iron Fist out of fear of becoming just like Fusion and the other so called "heroes"
Recently however, he has taken a liking to Spiderman's brand of justice, and has come to show some respect for the wall crawler.
