The World of Heroes Uprising

In the year of 2018, due to the combined anti-superhuman laws, the Brood invasion, and finally the Hydra invasion from the dark side of the moon, the world of Heroes Uprising suffered massive geopolitical changes that require a full post to update.

The destruction began with a single event set off my HYDRA leader John Doe, the Red Skull. Using the soul manipulator Shawkun, and a cosmic cube, he planted doubt in the super heroes in the souls of everyone on the planet.

It slowly deteriorated relations between the super community and the world governments, which culminated in the reformation of the Mutant Response Division. As SHIELD slowly lost it's influence, the MRD spread to other countries, headed by the USA's president Taylor. They forced through the monitors, small chips that could instantly depower any super human, no matter where he drew his power from. When Harry, the Light Admiral, and one of the most beloved heroes, was killed by MRD agents, the entire super community was split. Meanwhile, in the shadows, an individual named Mother was conspiring to further sling this conflict into full blow Chaos, her strange magical nature affection Sandra, the Phoenix, into aggressive assault on MRD agents. Milo Ventro, Fusion, also began working off the rails, and after Harry's death, Filipe, Ice-Hands. as well.

Meanwhile, Nate, "president" of Genosha, declared he officially supported MRD. This finally set off the super human civil war. During this war, Milo shrank New York City using it blackmail. On the west coast, Troy uses his part of the Phoenix to burn down all of LA. This culminated in a mad gambit by Nate and Lex to steal both Milo's and Sandra's powers. However, Mother, manipulating Nate, managed to steal Milo's power for herself, Milo killing himself in the process of resisting, and then trick Nate into fusing with her while he held the White Phoenix. She then launched the Chaos Wave, a massive universal barrier that while not fully understood, can be explained has having massively powered down all of the strongest heroes of the universe, and then barred all mystical pantheons from Earth 616.

With their powers reduced, and MRD still strong despite the setback, the heroes were scattered. And then strange events started to take place, with various MRD members acting in strange ways and serving a "she" that was not revealed, particularly, Sean sealing away the demons into hell, Kano included, and then imprisoning the Ghost Rider.

While this is happening, Tess summers uses Karen to shrink more and more cities and blames it on the Shadow X-Men, further tarnishing and ruining the heroes reputation. Many cities are destroyed.
It is at this point that is is revealed that both Tess, and most of MRD, had been working for the Brood, an alien race of parasites, as they launch their final invasion of Earth.

However, Milo reveals himself alive, and through the use of a virus he had created, manages to wipe them out. However, the damage was done. But thanks to the Brood invasion failing, some good came. Aaron Stark and Oliver Morrison regained their financial power and set out to rebuild all the cities that Tess had destroyed, resigning themselves to the officially story regarding the heroes. Milo also revealed himself alive, and out of fear he was still at full power, MRD did not touch him. MRD itself was weakened as Marcus, Near and Zane were given permission to reform SHIELD.

Just as things were looking up however, Hydra, hidden on the dark side of the moon, launches their invasion, the Red Skull finally ready to reap the rewards of that plan almost a year before. However, the League, or rather the scattered members, pulled together once more, and thanks to a series of missteps directly related to Helena's siding with him, the Red Skull was defeated once again. Helena took control of Hydra and forced a surrender, giving up most of it's earnings, except, Germany. There she created a nation living up to her ideal of what a nation should be, while the rebuilding of the world begins.

With the war done, SHIELD and Germany left with the only major armies and the people sick of war, the world is more united than ever. Nations still hold their sovereignty and independence, and rights to deny each other resources, but more and more the people are moving from nation vs nation to a global Earth. The change came in blood, but it came. All nations willingly cooperate with SHIELD and SWORD in both resources, manpower and army. All major cities rebuilt by Aaron Stark and Oliver Morrison have had warp gates installed, which facilitates travel and commerce to an unprecedented level. At present, it requires heavy permits to use the warp gates as there are still national borders, but Aaron is putting pressure on the world governments to make warp gates less regulated. Every major city also houses SHIELD hellicarriers ports, some larger than others.

Major countries in HU

USA:
While weakened after the Brood, the destruction of MRD and then Hydra's attack, the USA still has a great standing in the world. With Stark&Morrison Industries,  Ventro Inc and Terra Corp all based in New York City rebuilt, and Taylor's new vision, they contribute a good portion of both SHIELD and SWORD. Taylor is slowly shaping the nation into a religious, authoritarian and quasi-theocratic nation, in what is called the third great religious awakening.

Major cities:
New York City:
Rebuilt from the ground up after the original was destroyed by Tess Summers, the city is the capital of the new planet Earth. With most major heroes centered there, it is a state of the art city with all newest Stark and Ventro tech. It also houses the main SHIELD HQ and Hellicarrier port, capable of launching over 20 air vessels. It also houses the second largest space frigate construction port in the world, rented to SWORD. But New York will be New York. Poverty still exists, and with advanced tech, especially cyborg components, become widespread, a new brand of criminal activity emerges, based around high end cybernetic trafficking. The Big Apple is the same, it just got a few circuits attached to the side.

DC:
Also rebuilt after the events of 2018, but not to the same extent as New York, it still serves as the capital of the US federal government. Due to the religious transformation in president Taylor, many more buildings dedicated to religion have sprung up. Truly, DC is a reflection of the recent USA policy, and the God given rights of it's people.

Lost Angelos:
Taken over entirely by the Angels Tie and Earrings after it was left barren by the fire, it has been turned into a literal "city of angels". First building a massive idyllic tower in the center, and then slowly rebuilding the city, the entire town has become a heaven on Earth. Unfortunately, it has also become the mecca for all things paranormal and supernatural. Vampires, werewolves, ghouls, the few remaining demons and the fallen angels, all converge on this city. Tie does her best to keep it under control, through her own brand of justice, but "The Angels" is a city of much more than halos and do-goodery

Oklahoma City:
A former major trade center for livestock, Aaron took that in mind as he rebuilt the city and surrounding fields into one gigantic farm, garnering the hate of vegetarians everywhere in the process

Wichita:
A city in Kansas targeted by Tess, Aaron rebuilt it and didn't stop there. He created floating platforms capable of being farmed, managing to almost match the production of wheat in the entire state by itself. Aaron is especially proud of this city, and calls it his own little present to the hungry.

Sacramento:
The capital city of the state of California. Aaron rebuilt it in a very straight forward fashion. However, due to San Francisco's double attack, and the LA fires, it quickly rose to become the center of the Californian state in economy. New Hollywood is located here, and so is the new Silicon Valley. Furthermore, trade with the city of LA has given the city a somewhat eery paranormal feel.

Germany:
After Helena von Richthofen killed the Red Skull at the end of the HYDRA invasion, she gave SHIELD a peace. Unwillingly to risk further action, they agreed. She took what remained of Hydra's space fleet, shared a good part of it with SWORD as a token of good will, and kept the rest. Shen turned Germany into an empire once more, proclaiming a Kaiser of the old family. Exactly a hundred years since the fall of Imperial Germany, it had returned.

Berlin:
Initially being rebuilt by Richthofen Arms and Stark&Morrison Industries together, the rebuilding of the capital city of Germany was left to just Elena. Using HYDRA technology and all the resources of the Rhineland, she turned the capital into a metropolis of steam and Imperial might. More dark and much less beautiful than the other major cities, it is none the less a major hub of commerce and trade, especially since the biggest steel factories lie outside of it. Helena has rebuilt the city in Iron and Blood, and if you want steel, you ask the von Richthofen.

Hamburg:
Unlike Berlin, it was not rebuilt from the ground up, or even heavily damaged. However the famous port town and financial district of Germany was turned into the main spaceship building hub on the planet through some quick and heavy additions to it's harbor district. It loans out to SWORD, but Helena charges her interest.

Genosha
The island nation of Genosha, located on the North American side of the Atlantic ocean, it is the capital of the mutant population of the world. With only one major city and various smaller settlements all along it's area, which is roughly half of Madagascar, it was severely destroyed by the recent wars and battles. However, headed by president Nate, the island nation rebuilt itself back to it's former glory. The Watch Tower, former home of the Shadow League, was rebuilt as a center for the UN, while still serving as a HQ for the heroes secretly., and the X-Mansion was also rebuilt as a mutant school once more, headed now by Nate himself, while the underground levels are still used by the heroes as well. The X-Force operates from the mountains just outside of Genosha city.

Other major cities
Perth and Cook Town: Located on the west and north of Australia respectively, both these cities along with Sydney have become the major population centers of Australia, with warp gates installed in the first two.

Buenos Aires:
It has become the second most populated city in the world as people rush to the rebuilt town from the poverty centers of South America. It has caused major friction with the Argentinian government due to all the border hopping

Caracas:
Another major center of exodus in South America. There is less pressure from the government there on the border hopping

Panama City:
The third of the exodus points in South America, it also receives a lot of refugees from Mexico. The old Panama canal is not as profitable, so they have turned it and adapted it into a major port for the SHIELD hellicarriers.

Cape Town:
A port town in southwest South Africa, it has become a major key point in the SHIELD defense strategy, as the biggest Hellicarrier port is located there. It is also, along with Mombasa, the most advanced city in Africa, while the continent still struggles to move out of the 20th century. As a result, there is a great disparity between rich and poor. However, efforts to modernize the entire country, and then continent, are in place, with results already being seen in other major cities

Mombasa:
Also know as New Mombasa, it has become the largest city in Kenya. SWORD director Ivan, due to some contacts he held in the government, made it the HQ of SWORD and their main Earth base, where a lot of their R&D, deployment port for space ships and recruiting and training is located. As a result, Kenya has become the richest and most advanced country in Africa

Vancouver:
The city has been turned into a fortress by the pacific fleet commander Near. SHIELD launches all of it's Hellicarriers on the Pacific from Vancouver, and from Vancouver Island as well. Both Victoria and Vancouver city have been renovated, Vancouver built from the ground up. The entire island is littered with SHIELD Hellicarrier construction areas and is perhaps the largest one owned by SHIELD alone.

Baghdad:
One of the oldest cities destroyed by Tess, Aaron took great care in it's rebuilding so as to not offend any sensibilities due to the nature of the city. He consulted with both secular and religious leaders in the Middle East and created a thriving center for the entire Muslim world, once again returning the city to it's Golden Era lost over 700 years ago due to the Mongol invasion. Perhaps the biggest undertaking by Stark was the creation of the Suspended Gardens of Babylon, which he built off the city to the side of the Euphrates river (Baghdad is on the bank of the Tigris river). He also offered to rebuild the ruins of Babylon itself, but was refused, and instead, created a conservation technology that allows for full preservation. Some are arguing the great city should be rebuilt.

Antakya:
Another city in the Middle East destroyed, Aaron also went through great effort to rebuild it, mostly because he took effort to rebuild not just the Muslim architecture, but the Christian one as well, and even the Roman, turning the city into something similar to Jerusalem, as well as doubling it's size as the original city of Antioch's ruins were just outside of Antakya. Unfortunately this has led to some religious clashing and tension with the Turkish government

Shanghai:
The city with the largest population in the world, and the biggest blood bath conducted by Tess, Aaron turned the city into the most futuristic city of all the ones he built, starting from the ground up and creating something that can only be described as straight out of a cyberpunk story. Not only is it technologically advanced and once again populated by millions, it also has the biggest black market for technological goods, including cyborg weaponry, firearms of all types including anti-mugen, energy weapons, and even power simulators and other such drugs. It is the center of the underworld of the planet.

Kyoto:
The only city in Japan targeted by Tess, and the former Imperial capital, Aaron also took great care with this city. While the futuristic components and repulsor based technology is there, it also features a great manner of green areas, and perhaps most impressively, all the old temples and castles fully rebuilt in detail. Aaron did his best to not disturb a thing about these sites, the same as he did in the Middle East. As a result, the city worships the Iron Man, and he has become a pop culture icon in Japan.

Calcutta:
The other population center in Asian mainland destroyed by Tess, Aaron once again took care in the traditional architecture. Despite his best efforts to create an advanced city with as little poverty as possible, due to being the only rebuilt city in one of the highest populated countries, overcrowding is evident, and the city, no longer under Aaron, is expanding outwardly, and has become the biggest city in the world, with over 30 million inhabitants

Major Organizations:

SHIELD:
The Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate, as one of the few organizations to survive the final HYDRA attack in relatively one piece, it is the forefront of the fight against most superhuman related threats on the planet. On top of that, thanks to Stark&Morrison resources, it now has three separate fleet of Hellicarriers, each fleet composed of 10 ships. Backed up by the Iron Drones, and the latest Stark tech, it's military potential is great. It is also developing it's own super hero program once more, headed by Stark.

MRD:
Despite being driven to almost extinction, the Mutant Response Division endures globally as an organization tasked with keeping the mutant, and superhuman in general, population in check. Sean reformed it before leaving, but the unpopularity, coupled with their betrayal while following Elena von Richthofen's orders, has left it in a state of near non-existance. They are still experts on anti-mutant operations.

SWORD:
The Sentient World Observation and Response Department, it is the space counterpart to SHIELD. Headed by Ivankov, it serves as Earth's representative in intergalactic affairs. After having it's fleet destroyed or hijacked by the Brood, it was rebuilt by Aaron and using half of the massive HYDRA invasion fleet built on the moon. With it's ODS platforms online and at full numbers, it's fleet has been doubled in size and it has begun other projects, including resource mining in Mars, the Moon, the asteroid belt and Jupiter's moons.

Major Companies

Stark&Morrison Industries
A joint venture by Aaron Stark and Oliver Morrison after each of their individual companies were seized by Tess during the MRD and Brood wars. With Aaron's brilliant engineering and Oliver's popular man of the people public relations, the two quickly won over the world once again and gained contracts for the rebuilding of all the cities destroyed by Tess, at the price of fully denouncing their friends publicly to gain support. Using these contracts, the company quickly became the biggest powerhouse in engineering, development, robotic AI and the very important repulsor technology, which is the base for most of the space fairing technology of Earth.

Ventro Inc.
A Company headed by none other then Milo Ventro. It started off as a merchandise company based of his superhero persona Fusion selling merchandise of himself from action figures, to cartoons. Even adapted it to make SXML based merchandise and went as far as to make merchandise based off villains and others tied into them. Developed a live action movie, a successful sandbox video game collaborating with Rockstar, and even an amusement park opening on Genosha, America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The Company expanded past merchandise and got into the energy business with Solar Towers, and a cure for AIDS and other STI. Recently Vento Inc. has been a major player in the legal drug business, as well as advanced technology.

Richthofen Conglomerate
An old company formed generations ago, it has remained in Helena's family since, with moderate to low success, dealing mostly in shipping. When she took over, she reinvented the entire structure and with aggressive expansion and business deals quickly took over the entire Germany economy and manufacturing, including most of the arms contracts and resources from the Ruhr companies, becoming the biggest arms producer, biggest steel manufacturer, and one the leading developer in space fairing arms technology

Terra Corp
A decades old company formed by Tess Summers. A semi succesful import/export business that rose to be one of the most prominent companies in the world. It quickly moved into the technology business, manufacturing and distributing all manner of tech. It's focus has primarily been superhuman and anti superhuman tech, as well as genetic manipulation in the form of injections that can temporarily grant and negate powers.

OsCorp
The company belonging to the Osborn family, currently headed by Jorgan Osborn. It was once one of the major companies in the US but has since fallen into harder times. The company focuses mostly on biological, microbiological and biomedical engineering, and contracts out to the US special forces for top secret super serum projects.

LOKI
After splitting off from Terra Corp, Sarah created her own company by gathering to her to greatest minds she could find in robot AI and cyborg modications. Her company is now the leading developer of cyborg technology, although a good part of the research is done in the shadows and tested by the mercenary group Loki.
