Race Name: Ayzrahim; the Forgotten; The Raptors
World of Origin: Ayzra
Race Appearance: The Ayzrahim are an avian race, described as resembling Terran ravens and crows the most due to their black feathers and beaks. Some, however, look more like falcons. They stand between 5'7" to 6'3" tall for males and 5'5" to 6' for females. Their eyes vary in color, from blue, green, purple, and gray. Their beaks hide a row of sharp teeth, which indicate that they may have originated from predators.

Territories: The floating city of Thanagor, located above the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone; the cloaked space station Mel’na’tay, orbiting Mars

History: The Ayzrahim come from the planet Ayzra, 1,402 light years away from Earth. Not much is known of their early history, as much of it had simply been forgotten over the centuries that they had been wandering the stars. What is known, however, is that they had a world remarkably similar to Earth in both its geology and society. The Ayzrahim were defended by their own superpowered heroes, who fought off extraterrestrial threats and world ending scenarios.

That would not last, however. After an incident that tarnished their reputation, the superpowered Ayzrahim were required to register not just themselves, but their children to the government for monitoring. Many of the heroes of their world resented this treatment, which they regarded as a sign of ingratitude. And so, around five hundred years ago, the Ayzrahim supers revolted, destroying the governments of their planet to reign as the overlords. And, surprisingly enough, they governed with a much fairer hand than their predecessors.

It seemed that their society would remain that way, but it didn’t. After about a century, a star was detected to be incoming towards the orbital path of Ayzra, which would disrupt its orbit with its parent star. That would, in turn, send the planet to the void as a rogue world. They had about a few centuries to prepare for the star’s arrival, as they had no power nor weapon with the might to defeat such a mighty force. What they did, instead, was prepare to flee.

And so, for three hundred years, the Ayzrahim constantly sent out colony ships into the darkness, hoping that at least one would find a habitable planet to settle in. For a long time, though, they failed. The grand city ships fell into ruin as resources slowly dwindled, whole colony fleets destroyed by marauding alien forces. Their world would be kicked out of its orbit by the unwelcome star, dooming everything and everyone on it to freeze to death.

Only one of the city ships, the Dawn of Ancient Days, managed to find a habitable world, known as Earth, but it came at the cost of 98 of the 100 Spacewarpers aboard, whose minds shattered as they attempted a last ditch warp towards the Solar System. On Earth, the ship crash landed as its aging systems failed, falling upon the Black Sea at about 2020. The Justice League aided with the recovery of the Dawn’s hull from the sea, which eventually saw the Ayzrahim striking a deal with Ukraine and the United Nations to be allowed to settle above the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, in exchange for assisting humanity whenever humanly possible. And so, the city of Thanagor was built around the decaying reactor of Chernobyl before it rose to the skies as a floating settlement. The Dawn of Ancient Days was rebuilt, and turned into an orbital station, now renamed Mel’na’tay. They mostly remain within their city for the better part of the century.

During the Third World War, the Ayzrahim fought against the United States, making their impact known when they used radioactive munitions against the American forces, buying the resistance a devastating but ultimately undecisive victory in Europe. The space city, Mel’na’tay, cloaked itself and was moved by its Spacewarpers unto Mars, where it operates by draining water from the polar ice caps. Thanagor at the same time was occupied, and most of the Highborne slaughtered by the United Empire for their dangerous abilities, as well as the respect they command from their brethren. Those few that survived are in hiding, swearing eternal revenge.

Race Powers:
The Ayzrahim are all highly resistant to radiation, and can walk in the immediate vicinity of a damaged nuclear reactor without any ill effects. Cosmic radiation in space also does not seem to affect them.

Other than this resistance to radiation, most Ayzrahim possess no abilities. Their aristocracy, known as the Highborne or the Veldoarn, are the exception to this rule. The Highborne are descended from the powered heroes that once served their society during their planetbound existence. Now, they are essentially an elite upper class, with the most powerful in their ranks serving as the species’ rulers. Their powers are widely varied, but they all possess the ability to change their appearance at will. The most prized of all of them, however, are the increasingly rarer Spacewarpers, who bear the bloodline of the ancient hero known as the Gate Master. They possess the ability to create wormholes, allowing for instantaneous travel between two points. When at least a hundred Spacewarpers pool their powers together, they are able to create a spatial bridge across space, allowing for faster than light travel between star systems.

Unfortunately, though, most of the Highborne were killed in the Third World War. Those that survive (around a few dozen at the very most) are either those that reside in the space station Mel’antay, or in hiding across the globe.
Race Weaknesses: The average Ayzrahim is physically weaker than humans on average. There are also only an estimated 35,000 of them in existence.
